- Voices from a Disaster

Voices from a DisasterVoices from a disaster (28 min.) is about the plight of the survivors in Gujarat after the devastating earthquake in January 2001. The film was shot mainly during the visit and public hearings conducted by the Indian People' Tribunal's in the earthquake affected areas. The earthquake left thousands dead and a long trail of mortality and morbidity. Eight months after the devastating earthquake, the plight of the survivors read like an unending tragedy. Official apathy, lack of clarity in the policies, discrimination, above all disrespect and disregard for humane values and lives have all amplified their misery. These voices call for urgent attention.

Facilitated by - Indian People's Tribunal and Oxfam India.
