- Health Care
Medical assistance was available during the rescue and relief phases except in some remote pockets. Fractures of lower limbs, pelvis and spine and amputations dominate caseload in certain clusters. A large number of survivors have developed psychological problems. Today, eight months after the devastating earthquake, Primary Health Centres are not able to deliver their services adequately. Critiques point out that absence of disease surveillance system will complicate the scenario. Medical and health care follow-up during the rehabilitation phase requires better attention.
