Initially, the rescue and relief phases witnessed support from all over. Resource poured in from all over the world. However, the rehabilitation process lacks co-ordination and vision. Government is yet to come out with a clear policy. The return exodus of "touch-and-go" agencies has begun. Promises by many corporate houses like " We will rebuild Kutch brick by brick" remain a distant dream. Media have already moved to other "newsworthy" stories. For the survivors, this is just a beginning of an unending misery. Does anyone recall what happened in Latur or in Orissa ?
